The Ohio Engineering Software Package has several supporting programs or files. The information that is created or managed in these programs or files is used by many or all of the remaining applications. A list of all of the files can be viewed below.
Since multiple applications rely upon this data, it was all placed in one location so that it could be downloaded once and only once. It is important to remember that this file is necessary to all of the remaining applications.
Once this file has reached your location and has been uncompressed, there are several housekeeping chores that need to be done. The "engmenu.dat" and "engmenu2.dat" files need to be reviewed with a text editor to insure that the selections within those files coincide with the applications that actually reside on your system. As subsequent applications are downloaded or added to your system, these files will again need to be visited. In addition, the "OH_ENG.CFG File Modifications" option under the "Utilities" selection on the main menu needs to be visited. This selection is necessary to acquaint the programs with the particulars of your computer.
