Hydrology for Urbanizing Areas is a Technical Release (TR55) developed by the USDA Soil
Conservation Service (currently Natural Resources Conservation Service) to aid in the
evaluation of hydrologic changes that normally occur in the land development process. The
file that is available for downloading is an automated version of this technical document.
The printed version serves as a user guide for the software and can be obtained from other
sources (see below).
The program is rather straight forward and is well supported through a combination of readme files, help screens and the printed document. Additional help may be available from one of the engineers listed on the directory of engineers on the main page.
The most up to date version of this program is maintained on the "National Water and Climate Center" site. Several other software packages are also available from that site under "Water Quality and Quantity Sciences". It is recommended that you transfer to the NWCC Site
