Introduction:

This program accepts cross-section survey information in either the rod reading - distance or elevation - distance format. As the data is entered, a graphical representation of the data is assembled and displayed. Cross-sections can be defined for each of the following conditions:


• Existing Condition (pre construction)
  
• Design Condition - (A template can be defined using a procedure that will describe nearly any shape that can be defined using straight lines.)
  
• As-built Condition.(post construction)
  

Once the data has been entered, several options allow various combinations of sections to be overlayed and resulting areas and volumes calculated. Additional features allow template sections to be moved or adjusted and various intercept rules to be modified to accomodate most any desired condition. With each template modification, quantities can be recomputed in an effort to attain an optimum design. The program works well for channel quantities, embankment quantities or earth work requirements in strip mine reclamation or land grading.

Reports that can be produced include:


• Quantities (cross-sectional area and volumes) for selected sections.
• Cut / Fill for each cross-section selected.
• Graphics print out of selected sections.
• Graphics print out of various profiles.
• Graphics print out of volume distribution curves.
